What it describes
A one-hundred-twenty-degree relationship traditionally links the same element. It suggests an easy exchange or familiar talent. Ease still needs direction; ask what can be developed instead of assuming a trine guarantees an outcome.
How Asteria calculates it
The shortest angular separation between two planetary longitudes is compared with 120°. A match is included when the difference is at most 6°. The remaining difference is the orb. Orbs are conventions and differ between schools; Asteria’s chart includes major and selected minor longitude aspects.
