Lunar nodes & eclipses

Where the Moon’s orbital plane meets the ecliptic.

The nodal axis

The lunar nodes are calculated intersection points, not physical planets. The North Node marks the ascending crossing of the ecliptic and the South Node lies opposite. Mean and true node calculations differ; Asteria currently teaches nodes without plotting them.

Eclipses

Eclipses occur near the nodes when Sun, Earth, and Moon align. Solar eclipses happen near new moon; lunar eclipses near full moon. Astrological interpretations vary by tradition. An eclipse does not establish an inevitable personal crisis.
